PATMOS

EXPLORE THE WONDERS OF THE HISTORICAL PATMOS,
WHERE MODERNITY MEETS TRADITION

The island has a magical light, here St. John the Theologian wrote both his Gospel and the Apocalypse, for this reason alone deserves a stay. The monastery (UNESCO World Heritage Site), was founded in the late 10th century and together with the Cave of the Apocalypse has since made Patmos one of the most important spiritual pilgrimage sites in Greece and the Christian world. However, being out of the mass tourism routes and far from the fervent life of the other islands of the Aegean Sea, Patmos keeps its traditions unshakably; life here is calm and slow. Every corner of the island exudes tranquility. If you are looking for a different, relaxing holiday in a still true Greece, Patmos is the perfect choice.

The tourist season begins with the Orthodox Easter. These celebrations on Patmos are deeply felt as the island is a symbol of Christianity. June is fantastic for mild temperatures and tranquility. A famous Film Festival is held in July and during August there are several celebrations taking place all over the island. On August 15 there are parties with traditional music and dancing that last until dawn. In September there are two very important festivals: the Sacred Music Festival, which takes place in the open area of the Cave of the Apocalypse, and the Folk Dance Festival of Greece.
Patmos is an experience to do at least once in a lifetime
